    This 3 days Merzouga Desert tour from Errachidia to Fes offers a rich journey through the Sahara and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Over three days and two nights, you will explore the Merzouga region with visits to nomad families, experience Gnaoua music and dance in Khamlia, see an old eyeliner mine, and discover the seasonal Merzouga desert lake and palm groves. The adventure includes a camel trek across the dunes with sunset and sunrise views and an overnight stay in a desert camp under the stars.     Itinerary

    Day 1:Arrival Errachidia – Merzouga

    Your adventure begins with a pickup from Errachidia ERH airport or your accommodation, followed by a drive south to the Sahara dunes of Merzouga. Settle in and enjoy your first night in the desert.

    Flight options: Domestic flights from Marrakech operate three times a week, arriving around 7 am or 3 pm, while flights from Casablanca run daily with midnight arrivals. The schedule can be adjusted to match your arrival time.

    Day 2:Merzouga Exploration – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga Lake – Palm Grove

    After breakfast, spend the day exploring the Merzouga region. Visit an ancient kohl mine and meet nomad families in their handwoven tents for a traditional Berber tea experience. Continue to Khamlia village to enjoy authentic Gnaoua music and dance. Free time for lunch at a local restaurant.

    In the afternoon, stroll through a palm grove and visit the nearby Merzouga lake, often called the flamingos’ lake. Later, take a camel ride across the dunes, stopping on a high dune to watch the sunset. End the day at a luxury desert camp with dinner and Berber drumming under a star-filled sky. Overnight in the camp.

    Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes

    Start early to witness the sunrise over the desert dunes. After breakfast, return by camel to Merzouga and meet your driver for the journey to Fes. Stop in Rissani, the historic capital of Tafilalet, and explore its lively souk. Visit Erfoud to see a fossilized marble workshop, then enjoy panoramic views of the Ziz Valley and lunch in Midelt.

    Continue to the cedar forest, home to the Barbary macaques, and visit Ifrane, known for its alpine-style houses and winter climate, often called the Switzerland of Morocco. The tour concludes with a drop off at your accommodation or chosen location in Fes.
