Itinerary

Day 1:Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Rose Valley - Boumalne Dades

Your 4 day Marrakech to Fes desert tour starts with a pickup from the airport or your hotel in Marrakech. We will travel across the stunning High Atlas mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, making several stops for photos of the incredible scenery. Next, explore the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has served as a filming location for movies like Gladiator and series like Game of Thrones. After visiting the Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate, we drive through the Rose Valley, where local roses are used to make perfumes and oils. The day ends with dinner and an overnight stay in a riad or hotel in Boumalne Dades.

Day 2:Boumalne Dades - Todra Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga Sahara

After a morning meal, we take in the views of the Dades Gorges and head toward the Todra Gorges. This area features a massive canyon with high red walls carved by the Todra River. You can spend some time walking through the gorge and enjoying the nature. In the afternoon, we arrive at the golden dunes of Merzouga. You will ride camels across the desert to watch a beautiful sunset from the top of the dunes. The night will be spent at a luxury desert camp, where you can enjoy traditional Berber music around a campfire under the stars.

Day 3:Merzouga Region - Nomads - Khamlia - Merzouga Lake

Waking up early to see the sunrise in the desert is a highlight of this trip. After breakfast, you will return to Merzouga on camelback to continue the adventure by car. We spend the day exploring the Merzouga area, including visits to old mines and a stop with local nomads to learn about their life while drinking Berber tea. We will also visit Khamlia village to experience live Gnaoua music. After a walk in a local palm grove, we visit the Merzouga lake to see flamingos. You will spend the night at a hotel in Merzouga.

Day 4: Merzouga - Rissani - Midelt - Cedar Forest - Ifrane - Fes

On the last day, we leave the dunes and visit the town of Rissani to walk through its historic market. Next, we stop in Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop. The journey continues through the Ziz Valley, offering great views of the palm trees. After lunch in Midelt, we reach the cedar forest where you can see wild Barbary Macaques. We also visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco due to its unique architecture and cold weather. Finally, we will drop you off at your accommodation or the airport in Fes, marking the end of your 4 day tour.
